Ponderings over Senator Ted Cruz, Presidential Candidate

Someone posted an article on FaceBook comparing Donald Trump to King Herod the Great in the Bible.

He wrote, "Herod, like his modern day counterpart The Donald, had a endless supply of money, power, and personal will.  Herod never met a problem or a challenge he couldn’t solve…or so it seems.  Imagine his demands".  Who Donald Trump Reminds Me Of

In pondering his observations, I remembered Donald Trump  telling Senator Ted Cruz that no one likes him and  his peers in the Senate have not endorsed him for President.

Considering that statement, I thought of Jesus cleansing the Temple in Jerusalem.  He turned over the money tables and drove out those who had given themselves over to corruption.

Senator Ted Cruz mentions in his book, " Ted Cruz, A Time For Truth, Reigniting the Promise of America", instances where members of the Senate tried to pass bills that would be for their best interests and at the same time conceal what they were doing from their constituents.   He exposed them and fought for what was right.  I am sure some resent him for this, especially for disclosing these things in his book for all to read.

Jesus Christ did not make many friends when he threw out those who were involved in corruption inside the temple.  In fact, the Jewish leaders wanted to have him arrested and killed.

Senator Ted Cruz stands for truth, both in the Word of God and our Constitution of the United States.  He loves the Constitution and lives his life to protect it and defend it.  He memorized the Constitution when he was in school and I am sure knows it inside and out.

I formed my decision to support Senator Ted Cruz for President after reading his book where he lays out his life as a young man and his convictions as a Christian and his political career.

Personally I want a leader who will not be bought and persuaded to compromise his/her principles.

How about you?
