THE FUNCTION OF THE  PANCREAS IN THE BODY IN RELATION TO MINISTERS OF THE GOSPEL BEING ATTACKED WITH PANCREATIC CANCER.

I am hearing of so many ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ being diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer today.   Others are also, but it seems like a large amount of ministers are.   To me, it seems like an attack of Satan on the minister and also to the church to weaken the Body of Christ.  The main  leadership roles in the church is to teach, build up and strengthen the believers in the Word of God and encourage them to do good works.   Below are my ponderings on ministers' Spiritual Gifts  in the church in relation to the function of the pancreas in the physical body.

1.    The pancreas produces insulin.  Sugar metabolism is the process of turning the energy from the foods you eat into fuel your body's cells need to grow and function.

Insulin

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insulin
o            Insulin is one of many hormones that helps the body turn the food we eat  into  energy.  Also, insulin helps us store energy that we can use later.  After we eat, insulin works by causing sugar to go from the blood into our body's cells to make fat, sugar, and protein. When we need more energy between meals, insulin will help us use the fat, sugar, and protein that we have stored.
o
  1. A minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is to teach and help the Body of Christ to understand and put into practice the Word of God in their lives, motivating them to do good works for the Lord.

3.    Ephesians 4:16
From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

Paul’s Prayer for Spiritual Growth
14 When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father,[e] 15 the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.[f] 16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
4.    I believe the pastor could be the “Pancreas” to the Body of Christ.  The Word of God is our Spiritual Food, but it is the Pastor that builds the church  up in the Holy Faith, as the pancreas, in the physical body, produces insulin to build or fuel cells in the Body of Christ to grow and function.

5.    1 Thessalonians 5:10-12
Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever. So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. [ Paul’s Final Advice ] Dear brothers and sisters, honor those who are your leaders in the Lord’s work. They work hard among you and give you spiritual guidance.
6.    Pastors motivate us to live for Jesus Christ, build our faith and do good works for the Lord.
  1. Hebrews 10:24
Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.
8.       James 2:26
Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works.
9.    The account of Job in the Old Testament shows how Satan wanted to attack Job because of his relationship of obedience to God.

Job 1
New International Version (NIV)
1 In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil. He had seven sons and three daughters, and he owned seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred donkeys, and had a large number of servants. He was the greatest man among all the people of the East.
One day the angels[a] came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan[b] also came with them. The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”
Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”
Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.”
Job 2:4
“Skin for skin!”  Satan replied. “A man will give all he has for his own life. But now stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face.”
6     The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you must spare his life.”
Job 42:10,12
After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before.
12 The Lord blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the former part.

10.           In all of the sufferings Satan put Job through, he did not curse God.

11.         The work of Satan against the Church.

13.           One tactic is to divide the Body of Christ and to scatter them.  By attacking the minister, leader of the church, there will be those that become discouraged for various reasons and leave.  Some will become angry with God if the minister of a growing church is not healed and will lose faith regarding prayer.  Some will not like a new minister’s leadership or message delivery.  Mature Christians will accept God’s will and will not allow the enemy to shake their faith.

14.  My pastor has been fighting pancreatic cancer for 2 years now.  This is truly a miracle of God.  Most people that have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer do not live more than a few weeks to a few months.   My pastor has been lifted up in prayer worldwide daily.  God said that "Nothing, absolutely nothing is impossible for Him".  I heard some say in the church, they did not believe my pastor would live long.  I heard some say they did not have faith to believe God would heal him.  Some related his cancer to their husband or wife that died shortly after being diagnosed.  There were many who voiced doubt instead of claiming God's Word and promises.  I personally believe this is an attack of Satan against my pastor.  We had just moved into our new sanctuary around the time pastor was diagnosed.  He had surgery, but the surgeon could not help him.  He was told he had a short time to live.  Yes, that was two years ago.  He started preaching again just seven months after his surgery and has preached every Sunday since then, unless he was away.  He is looking healthy and feeling well except for a few days after he has chemo.  I believe that, like Job, God will restore everything to my pastor that the enemy has stolen from him.

15.  If you know someone fighting pancreatic cancer or any other type of cancer, speak words of life to them.  Pray the Word of God over them and remind God of His Promises.  Do not give in to doubt, no matter how bad the situation looks.  Jesus Christ bore our sicknesses and diseases when He was scourged and nailed to the cross.   By His stripes we ARE healed.  Present tense.  Put on the whole armor of God in prayer and come against Satan from inflicting the person you are praying for and bind Satan in Jesus Name for doing any more harm to them.  Praise God and thank God for the healing He provided for them through His Son Jesus Christ.  Ask God to let them live according to the time He ordained for them and to do the good works He prepared for them to do before He created the world.

When I opened my homepage this morning on the computer, I read an article about the New Madrid earthquake fault . I did a Google search, as I have seen several maps should this scenario come to pass. I thought I would post it here as I think it is Food for Thought.

Is the New Madrid Fault about to Split the USA?

2011-11-02 21:26

People from St. Louis all across Missouri to the western edge of that state reported an unusual odor recently. Mrs. Prophecy Dude did some research and even after dispelling all the anti-government conspiracy theories, there was sufficient information to make this interesting and worth sharing. Here are a couple of articles describing the incident that took place 2011-10-26:

Then there is a lady in Oklahoma, originally from earthquake-riddled California, who believes she can predict them by certain characteristic odors she says are released before an earthquake strikes.

Some simple Internet research readily uncovers other historic testimonies purporting certain odors before earthquakes strike. Witnesses of the great San Francisco Earthquake of 1906 reported odors days before the devastating quake hit. These are all odors similar to what is being described in Missouri.

If an earthquake is about to shake again the Mississippi River area along the New Madrid fault, it could be devastating. Here’s a brief description from the City New Madrid’s website:

The New Madrid earthquakes were the biggest earthquakes in American history. They occurred in the central Mississippi Valley, but were felt as far away as New York City, Boston, Montreal, and Washington D. C. President James Madison and his wife Dolly felt them in the White House. Church bells rang in Boston. From December 16, 1811 through March of 1812 there were over 2,000 earthquakes in the central Midwest, and between 6,000-10,000 earthquakes in the Bootheel of Missouri where New Madrid is located near the junction of the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers.

In the known history of the world, no other earthquakes have lasted so long or produced so much evidence of damage as the New Madrid earthquakes. Three of the earthquakes are on the list of America’s top earthquakes: the first one on December 16, 1811, a magnitude of 8.1 on the Richter scale; the second on January 23, 1812, at 7.8; and the third on February 7, 1812, at as much as 8.8 magnitude.

Even something remotely similar to the force of these earthquakes would incredibly devastate the region and affect the United States tremendously, especially with the current situation of a precarious economy. Think about how much more the area has developed since the first of these series of quakes struck exactly two centuries ago this coming December 16, 2011.

More powerful earthquakes are striking the earth. In 2010, there were 120 quakes magnitude 6 or greater, but so far in 2011 the earth has experienced over 180 of them. What would it be like if the next New Madrid quake was greater than 8.8 in magnitude? Some predict the United States would virtually split in two. There are even map scenarios floating around with just such a picture.

There are serious scientific explanations for how such an event could occur, but there is a much more important cause and it relates directly to Israel. The immortal covenant promise of God to Abraham that describes how national relationships to Israel will be rewarded falls into place. Genesis 12:3 says that nations who bless Israel will be blessed and those who curse Israel will be cursed. Essential in all of this is Jerusalem, the jewel of Israel. If the United States supports a divided Jerusalem, it may be that the result of that action could result in a divided United States—a literal division. The United States is conspicuously absent in end time prophecy. There are several scenarios that can place the United States incapable of reacting to an attack on Israel (Ezekiel 38 and 39), all have to do with the economy for sure, but a major upheaval such as another New Madrid earthquake could be one of those scenarios.

Such gloom and doom from Prophecy Dude! It’s Mrs. Prophecy Dude’s fault for taking Prophecy Dude down this trail! It’s all speculation. Don’t sell your season passes to Six Flags Over St. Louis yet.

Here is what you should do. Draw close to God. He wants to know you in an intimate way and He will provide you supernatural experiences as you press in to know Him more and more. This will get you ready for anything that might come along.

Another end time sign is that the gospel will be preached and we believe related to that will be the last great awakening—a revival of tremendous proportions just before the harvest of the ages. For those who are whole-heartedly serving the Lord Jesus, His promises will be more real than ever. He will provide—even supernaturally. Remember, He’s not coming for a weak, emaciated church, but one that is without spot or wrinkle, standing strong in faith with victory. The greatest time for the church is just ahead of us. Let’s do our best to boldly please the Lion of Judah before He calls us home!

Me, Myself and Lies

I just finished a ladies' Bible Study using Jennifer Rothschild book, "Me, Myself, and Lies".
It was an eye opener to the many thoughts I allow to run through my head throughout the day.
Thoughts contrary to what the Word of God states about me and God's love for me.

It is so important to know God's Word in order to be able to recognize the counterfeit thoughts Satan or others can put in your head. The only way to do this is to read God's Word yourself. Be involved in a Bible teaching church and Bible Study. Surround yourself with Christian friends that are like minded and strong in the teachings of God's Word.

I have heard that new bank employees are taught how to recognize counterfeit bills by studying and handling the "real". When you KNOW what is real, it is easy to recognize the FAKE.

2 Timothy 2:15
15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

New King James Version (NKJV)

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

American Idols The Worship of the American Dream

The small group from our church that meets in our home Sunday evenings is beginning to read and discuss "American Idols, The Worship of the American Dream" by Bob Hostetler.

Our pastor is preaching a series on American Idols on Sunday mornings. For the most part, Christians do not normally think of practicing idolatry. The author brings out areas of our lives and personalities that causes the reader to recognize if there is an idol/idols and how they begin to manifest and grow in our lives. Consumerism, Naturalism, Individualism, Celebrity, Instant Gratification, Humanism, Experience, Success, Sensuality, Sexual Freedom, Choice, Appearance, Comfort, Money, and Busyness. All of these are addressed in the 15 chapters of the book.

I think I am going to enjoy this study. It is good for Christians to reflect inward and do a spiritual inventory.

America Is A Christian Nation

I received the following in an email and just had to post this. The president of the United States of America is to represent all the people in our country. In President Obama's recent visit to Europe, he made the statement below. This does not represent me or what I believe. I do not consider myself to be in the "we" he mentioned. I do not believe either that those who are American citizens, by birth or choice, should forget or be ignorant of the faith or values of the founding fathers for our nation. True, there are people of many faiths who are now citizens of the United States of America. They are given the freedom to worship as they so choose. But I, for one, do not think they should try to change our country into something more agreeable with their way of life, or change our country's values or the foundation on which America was established.

President Barack Obama said in Turkey :

"We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values."

Are You Ready?

This week I knew 4 individuals whose lives ended on this earth. Three were in their senior years and one was my age. Now some say that 62 is senior, but I don't think of myself that way. One of the individuals that passed away was 62 years old. I just saw her a month ago, full of life, healthy, and her usual loving self as I spoke to her. Since she was the same age as me, I really considered how limited our time on Earth is. Really, it's only a blink of an eye compared to all of eternity.
She was on blood thinners for a medical condition. She lost her balance and fell back against the wall hitting her head on the wall. As most of us would do, she passed it off as losing her balance and went on with what she was doing, thinking she just bumped her head. This was April 9th.

It turns out, she has a slow blood leakage in her brain and the next day was in the hospital on life support. She passed away April 18th. Today, April 29th she is being buried. I know she loved Jesus Christ and served Him faithfully in her church and community. I know she is now in Heaven in His presence. No more tears, no more pain or sorrow.

Revelation 21:4
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."

Now, some people do not believe in eternal life. Neither did the Jewish Sadducees. That was "why they were sad, you see". These individuals believe that nothing else happens. When a person dies, that is all there is. (Hebrews 9:27)
"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment."

Then, there is a group that believes that God is a good God and He will send no one to Hell. If that is the case, then why did Jesus Christ mention more about Hell than Heaven while He was on Earth? Jesus told a parable (an earthly story to teach a spiritual truth) of a beggar and a rich man. ( Luke 16: 19-31 )

The Rich Man and Lazarus
19 "There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20 At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21 and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 "The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In hell,
where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24 So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.'
25 "But Abraham replied, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.'
27 "He answered, 'Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father's house, 28 for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.'
29 "Abraham replied, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.'
30 " No, father Abraham,' he said, 'but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.'
31 "He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.' "

There is also a group of individuals that believe if they obey the law, attend church now and then, or just declare they are a Christian, because mother and daddy were, or they went to church as a child, they never broke any of the main 10 Commandments, murder, adultery, stealing, etc., or they were baptized as a baby, have the mind set that they will hopefully go to Heaven when they die. God will weigh their good deeds against their bad deeds and let them into Heaven. (This once was my belief). (Ephesians 2:8)
"8 God's grace has saved you because of your faith in Christ. Your salvation doesn't come from anything you do. It is God's gift. "

There is a group of individuals that believe there are many roads that lead to God, whether it be Hindu,Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, etc. May I give you the very words of Jesus Christ? (Who was born a Jew).

John 14:6

"6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

I always believed that Jesus Christ died for the sins of the world. That is what I was taught in Sunday School and church. At the age of 26, I understood, that Jesus Christ not only died for the sins of the world, but it became personal to me and I understood that Jesus Christ died on the cross for me. I should have been the one to hang on the cross. I should have been the one to suffer. I am the one that sinned against God the Father, my Creator. Jesus, God's only Son, committed no sin. He truly was God's spotless Lamb offered for sacrifice for mankind's sin.

Romans 5:12, 18 - 19 Death Through Adam, Life Through Christ
"12 Sin entered the world because one man sinned. And death came because of sin. Everyone sinned, so death came to all people. "

"18 One man's sin brought guilt to all people. So also one right act made all people right with God. And all who are right with God will live. 19 Many people were made sinners because one man did not obey. But one man did obey. That is why many people will be made right with God. "

So there it is. Ask yourself, "Am I Ready"? If something happened now, an accident, a simple fall, an unexpected illness and you would die in a moment. No time to prepare, no warning, where would you go? If you have declared that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Saviour and are living for Him, you have the confidence that you will be in Heaven with Him.

If you are not sure where you will be when you die, accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour is as simple as A, B, C.

A: Admit you have sinned against God the Father in Heaven.

B: Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as God's Only Son. (Believe: to have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something, although without absolute proof that one is right in doing so: Only if one believes in something can one act purposefully. )

C: Confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus Christ to others.

Romans 10:9

"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

Romans 10:10

"For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."

Do you know Easter?

I received this email today from a dear friend. I do not know who wrote it, so I cannot give them credit. It is a beautiful story non the less. True? I don't know about Edith Burns being a real person. I do know that Easter is real. Easter is not about the bunny, eggs, or new dresses. Find out the real meaning of Easter and ask yourself, "Do I know Easter?"

"THE STORY OF EDITH BURNS...

Happy Easter!

Edith Burns was a wonderful Christian who lived in San Antonio, Texas. She was the patient of a doctor by the name of Will Phillips. Dr. Phillips was a gentle doctor who saw patients as people. His favorite patient was Edith Burns. One morning he went to his office with a heavy heart and it was because of Edith Burns. When he walked into that waiting room, there sat Edith with her big black Bible in her lap earnestly talking to a young mother sitting beside her. Edith Burns had a habit of introducing herself in this way: "Hello, my name is Edith Burns. Do you believe in Easter?" Then she would explain the meaning of Easter, and many times people would be saved. Dr. Phillips walked into that office and there he saw the head nurse, Beverly. Beverly had first met Edith when she was taking her blood pressure. Edith began by saying, "My name is Edith Burns. Do you believe in Easter?" Beverly said, "Why yes I do." Edith said, "Well, what do you believe about Easter?" Beverly said, "Well, it's all about egg hunts, going to church, and dressing up." Edith kept pressing her about the real meaning of Easter, and finally led her to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Dr. Phillips said, "Beverly, don't call Edith into the office quite yet. I believe there is another delivery taking place in the waiting room." After being called back in the doctor's office, Edith sat down and when she took a look at the doctor she said, "Dr. Will, why are you so sad? Are you reading your Bible? Are you praying?" Dr. Phillips said gently, "Edith, I'm the doctor and you're the patient". With a heavy heart he said, "Your lab report came back and it says you have cancer, and Edith, you're not going to live very long." Edith said, "Why Will Phillips, shame on you.. Why are you so sad? Do you think God makes mistakes? You have just told me I'm going to see my precious Lord Jesus, my husband, and my friends.. You have just told me that I am going to celebrate Easter forever, and here you are having difficulty giving me my ticket!" Dr. Phillips thought to himself, "What a magnificent woman this Edith Burns is!" Edith continued coming to Dr. Phillips. Christmas came and the office was closed through January 3rd. On the day the office opened, Edith did not show up. Later that afternoon, Edith called Dr. Phillips and said she would have to be moving her story to the hospital and said, "Will, I'm very near home, so would you make sure that they put women in here next to me in my room who need to know about Easter?" Well, they did just that and women began to come in and share that room with Edith. Many women were saved. Everybody on that floor from staff to patients were so excited about Edith, that they started calling her Edith Easter; that is everyone except Phyllis Cross, the head nurse.

Phyllis made it plain that she wanted nothing to do with Edith because she was a "religious nut". She had been a nurse in an army hospital. She had seen it all and heard it all. She was the original G.I. Jane. She had been married three times, she was hard, cold, and did everything by the book. One morning the two nurses who were to attend to Edith were sick. Edith had the flu and Phyllis Cross had to go in and give her a shot. When she walked in, Edith had a big smile on her face and said, "Phyllis, God loves you and I love you, and I have been praying for you." Phyllis Cross said, "Well, you can quit praying for me, it won't work.. I'm not interested." Edith said, "Well, I will pray and I have asked God not to let me go home until you come into the family." Phyllis Cross said, "Then you will never die because that will never happen," and curtly walked out of the room. Every day Phyllis Cross would walk into the room and Edith would say, "God loves you Phyllis and I love you, and I'm praying for you." One day Phyllis Cross said she was literally drawn to Edith's room like a magnet would draw iron. She sat down on the bed and Edith said, "I'm so glad you have come, because God told me that today is your special day." Phyllis Cross said, "Edith, you have asked everybody here the question, "Do you believe in Easter but you have never asked me." Edith said, "Phyllis, I wanted to many times, but God told me to wait until you asked, and now that you have asked." Edith Burns took her Bible and shared with Phyllis Cross the Easter Story of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Edith said, "Phyllis, do you believe in Easter? Do you believe that Jesus Christ is alive and that He wants to live in your heart?" Phyllis Cross said, "Oh I want to believe that with all of my heart, and I do want Jesus in my life. " Right there, Phyllis Cross prayed and invited Jesus Christ into her heart. For the first time Phyllis Cross did not walk out of a hospital room, she was carried out on the wings of angels. Two days later, Phyllis Cross came in and Edith said, "Do you know what day it is?" Phyllis Cross said, "Why Edith, it's Good Friday." Edith said, "Oh, no, for you every day is Easter. Happy Easter Phyllis!" Two days later, on Easter Sunday, Phyllis Cross came into work, did some of her duties and then went down to the flower shop and got some Easter lilies because she wanted to go up to see Edith and give her some Easter lilies and wish her a Happy Easter. When she walked into Edith's room, Edith was in bed. That big black Bible was on her lap. Her hands were in that Bible. There was a sweet smile on her face. When Phyllis Cross went to pick up Edith's hand, she realized Edith was dead. Her left hand was on John 14: "In my Father's house are many mansions. I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also." Her right hand was on Revelation 21:4, "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, there shall be no more death nor sorrow, nor crying; and there shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." Phyllis Cross took one look at that dead body, and then lifted her face toward heaven, and with tears streaming down her cheeks, said, "Happy Easter, Edith - Happy Easter!" Phyllis Cross left Edith's body, walked out of the room, and over to a table where two student nurses were sitting. She said, "My name is Phyllis Cross. Do you believe in Easter?"
